In the Living
Nativity Procession, we tell the story of Jesus'
birth, in scripture, song, and scenes recreated
with live animals. Children and adults
participate in the roles of those present at the
time of Christ's birth. The Living Nativity
Procession begins in Church and proceeds
outdoors through the various scenes that
surround the Christmas story. After our short
pilgrimage outdoors, we end up at the stable
(again in church) to see the baby Jesus. When
the procession and story has concluded, all are
invited to the Parish Activities Center for the
Children's Christmas Festival, a time of
refreshments and games.

Retreat Day ~ Finding our Focus: Advent Praying with Body, Mind
and Spirit
Advent is a time of preparing for what is really
important – the coming of Christ. Once we have
our priorities straight, everything else falls
into place. Yet it is easy to become
overwhelmed by the
busyness and let the noise
and crowds edge out the quiet joy to be found in
the season. We, who have
so much to do, seek
quiet spaces to hear God’s voice. Step away for
a day to relax, unwind, listen and
shift your
focus. Experience the peace and joy that comes
from praying with body, mind and spirit,
Scripture, guided meditation and music of the
season. Bring a journal for some quiet
reflection. Basic
movements will be taught
which can be done by anyone, regardless of
experience or physical limitation.
Facilitator: Janene Ternes, commissioned
spiritual director and founder of Prayer in
Motion, LLC. She
has developed and presented a
variety of workshops and individualized programs
which teach and inspire
holistic forms of prayer
for people of all ages. She helps others
experience a deeper connection with
God, leading
to a more loving, peaceful, joyful and fulfilled
life.
