prayer experiences using music, every day
movements, Scripture, and guided meditation.

Journey to Forgiveness
Whether a childhood wound, a relationship hurt or

is only through God’s grace that we are able
to forgive and only through forgiveness that
we can be truly free. The journey to
forgiveness begins with a single step. Step
away for a day to experience prayer that
opens you to God’s healing freedom using
Scripture, guided meditation, music and body
movement to engage your whole being in
prayer. Bring a journal for some quiet

Lenten Evening
of Reflection ~ Returning to God
All too often our
journey away from God occurs in small, seemingly
innocent decisions about how we spend our time,
the words we use, the feelings we hold onto.
Before we know it, the focus of our lives gets
fuzzy, practices we found helpful and important
are crowded out by busyness, and an unsettled
feeling begins to build inside. Return to
God with your presence tonight as we journey
with Jesus ever closer to the Father.
Invited guest, Janene Ternes,
will share her inspirational story and lead us
in a variety of prayer experiences using music,
movement, Scripture of the season, and guided
meditation. Basic movements will be taught
which can be done by anyone, regardless of
experience or physical limitation. All are
invited to reflect, relax, and
deepen your
connection with God.

Women's Morning of Reflection ~
Finding Peace
In our gift of life, God desires for us to live
in the peace that comes only from trusting and
following God. But in times of such societal
fear and economic stress, how do we find that
peace? In our time together we will deepen our
focus through using every day movements, music,
Scripture, guided meditation and our whole
selves to pray. Basic movements will be taught
which can be done by anyone, regardless of
experience or physical limitation. All are
invited to experience the deep peace which
results from mindfully being in God’s Presence.

Intergenerational Evening ~ New Paths to God
An intergenerational
evening of exploring prayer in non-traditional
forms that are active and interactive. The
evening begins with a General Assembly in Holy
Family Hall led by Janene Ternes of Prayer in
Motion.
General Assembly:
Praying with Movement - Engaging our Whole
Self in Prayer
Involving
our whole being in prayer creates opportunities
to interact with God in a new way. Adding
movement removes distractions, more fully
engages us and opens us emotionally to the God
who always beckons us closer. We will use every
day movements, music and Scripture to lead us to
a deeper connection with God. Basic movements
will be taught which can be done by anyone,
regardless of experience or physical
limitation.
Participants will
then have the opportunity to attend a smaller
break out session from the following prayer forms:
-
Prayer with
Movement - a second session will be
offered for those who wish to go deeper with
movement prayer. This will build on
the opening session by emphasizing more
personal reflection, including guided
meditation and journaling.
-
Prayer in Color
- an active, meditative playful prayer
practice. Drawing is half the prayer,
the other half is transporting the visual
images to prayer - prayer for others,
praying with scripture and praying to honor
God.
-
Praying the
Psalms - uses the Psalms to praise and
reflect with emotion and voice. This
module will include prayerful song, singing
praises to the Lord to give thanks to his
holy name.
-
Prayer of Imagination
- a meditative, engaging way to come to
deeper relationship with God. This
module is a spiritual exercise of simply
resting in attentive awareness of God's
closeness.
