Don’t Sit Still! ~ Pray in Movement and Song!

There are many ways to pray.  Just as we have been created body, mind and spirit we can pray with our whole being as well!  As we begin to get caught up in the busyness of the holidays, it is good to stop for awhile and reflect on the Advent season we are preparing to celebrate.  Take some time to join with your Corpus Christi community, nourish your Spirit and enhance your prayer life.  Come experience a new dimension in your personal prayer using your body, mind and spirit to pray with the Scriptures and music of the season.  Basic movements will be taught which can be done by anyone, regardless of experience or physical limitation. All are invited to reflect, relax, and be refreshed as we prepare for Christ’s coming!

January 13, 2008 10:30 – 11:15 am

We will accompany Jesus as He is baptized in the Jordan by John the Baptist.   Through Scripture, music, movement prayer and discussion children ages 6-10 will engage with their families in remembering their own baptism.  We will end with our baptismal call to go out and live the gospel.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL:  JULY 18-22!

This summer, get ready for your child to explore the bible in a whole new way!  All in Vacation Bible School!  We're setting up "shops" to recreate a Jerusalem Marketplace that includes the arts of Jesus' time still practiced today.  In the midst of this biblical and modern daily life, the children watch "real" dramas where the characters of Peter, Mary, and others portray the events in the life of Jesus.

There will be something new everyday during the week.  VBS is for children in Preschool (4 years) and children entering the fall Grades K-5.  Older youth are invited to help out in the activities.  For information, call 821-2130.

The Marketplace

Children explore the arts of biblical and modern times:

Monday:  Candy-making and Jewelry Shop
Tuesday:  Weaving and Basket-making
Wednesday:  Spiritual Dance and Pottery
Thursday:  Spinning and Musical Instruments
Friday:  Carpentry/Toy Shop
All week:  Bakery, Herbs/Spices, Goods for the Poor
